FOLKLORE CELEBRATIONS / THE BÝKOV BAROQUE ESTATE
Tours of the restored Baroque estate with the owner, period crafts, refreshments, folklore performances.
A sensitive restoration of these listed premises represents the preservation of one of the few large estates built in the rustic Baroque style. This estate was built in 1703 by the Saint Cistercian order under the creative effort of the Abbot of Plasy Monastery, Evžen Tyttl. The penultimate owner was Chancellor Václav Kliment, the Duke of Metternich. The premises currently have a German owner who bought it in a derelict state. After three years of complicated restoration, he has managed to renovate the building and thus preserve this valuable historical construction for future generations. Býkov is situated in a beautiful forested landscape which is a paradise for lovers of quiet holidays in nature.
