CONCERT / ST ANNE’S CHURCH HORŠOVSKÝ TÝN
A concert by flautist Michaela Koudelková and her guests.
Legend has it that Mr. Křečka, a ploughman, once ploughed out a miraculous statuette of St Anne from a field near Horšovský Týn. That was the reason why a simple small wooden chapel was built here in 1507. In 1516, a new church replaced the chapel. In the second half of the 18th century, the church was converted into the Baroque style and was also given a vestry and a Baroque vault. The original furnishings have not been preserved. Today, the church falls under the administration of the National Heritage Institute and is closed to the public. Take advantage of this unique opportunity to see this church opening and resounding with Baroque music as part of the 9 Weeks of Baroque festival.
